jason and tara - 20th february 2009

stud-muffin farmer boy jason and graceful, elegant beauty tara found us 3 weeks before their wedding…

we are so pleased they did…

these two small country town “primary school sweethearts” :) met again in big city adulthood and ka-chow…

we arrived at the swanky duxton where everyone was ready!!!!!!

here’s mikes…all day i was thinking grace kelly…

bridesmaids were in awe…mum was overwhelmed…

…dad was gob-smacked…

 and no wonder…

 mikes shot my shot

hello hotness

very hot day (our starburst melted into a bag of sticky mess - which mikes hand found:))

and the fellas (all 6 aquinas old boys/hunky farmer boys) found a little coolness inside the beautiful st columbas church…

 until i dragged them out…:)

tara steadying herself with the help of her flowergirl…

 love this

my shot, mikes shot

the ceremony was officiated by jasons chaplain from aquinas, so even though he performed a full mass, it was quite intimate and sprinkled with plenty of humour…

love love love this shot…read on clare days blog that she also loves the moment just after the signing where the couple gaze longingly and kiss…me too clare!

 love this!

the time between ceremony and reception was quite short…so we drove to the foreshore for our 20 minute, largest brial party ever, fully impressive location shoot!

my shot

 mikes shot

  hello there….

please dont tell anyone that we coaxed the swan into the picture with doritos

love these…could have been captured 50 years ago…except for the blazen hotness…:)

we seriously and honestly did not see the words on the bitumen when we were taking this…oops…

after a slight dilemma with 3 allocated parking spots and one very long rolls royce, we climbed the creaky, timber stairs of the perth town hall to start an amazing party…

speeches were sensational…we heard from both parents how tara and jason, and their amazing group of friends, are swtiched on, responsible, giving and kind (with the odd bender thrown in for a bit of spice)

and how they have literally known each other since primary school…there is definitely something to be said for raising children in a small town…

first dance was fabulous…not only did jason and tara perform a choreographed number - the whole bridal party knew the steps as well…

i think dancing may have been on the curriculum at iona and aquinas …:)

oh my goodness…forget to mention…murphys lore were the entertainment for the evening…

incredible

i did not stray far from the dance floor (being a photographer the whole time of course)

lining the walls of the perth town hall foyer are dusty, faded images of grand parties held from the early 1900’s…

mike chose to shoot mainly black n white as it just looked right…

the dancing literally did not stop from when it started…it was a high energy, super fun, very large party…we loved it…

love this of tara taking 5 and watching the slideshow after everyone else has left…:)

jason and tara met us outside amongst the night clubbers and the homeless people…

random people were stopping and also taking photos on phones and the like…so you may have already seen this somewhere!

 love this

 but love this more

heading back inside…but then…mike (after trying to break into an abandoned house and failing) found this great spot (aided by homeless person number 7)…

and we dragged them back to here…mikes shot

 my shot…

but then i was a little creeped out laying on the ground surrounded by old men with the pungent aroma of muscat filling my nostrils and we went back inside…

this was going to be a great shot…i had it all set…then a well-meaning but wildy intoxicated young man lifted his arm and wacked my camera into the bridge of my nose and i dont remember anything else…

…until waking up outside and it was midnight by the town hall clock and tired cinderalla and her ever-so-handsome prince had to return home in their overloaded pumpkin,

to their cooking and cleaning and many children who lived in the shoe…hang on…fairytale mix up…forgive me, it was a big whack on the nose!

jason and tara - you are real life fairytale material…

we could not help but be swept up in the romantism and happiness surrounding you both

we are so so so happy you found us…

we wish you many glowing dawn sunrises, hot roast dinners and rocking chair on the porch sunsets at the farm

comp update…i was seriously aiming to kick his butt with my leaving shot, but all i have to show for the patience is a bruised nose…

night shots were hotly contested but agreed even - we were too happy and tired to argue!!!

mark and ammie - 21st february 2009

ever smiling ammie and handsome calm mark joined us on a sunny afternoon for a practice run before the saturday…

found this perfect spot - just behind our fave pizza store!

we joined them both at meadowbrooke a few days later on a hot hot day (one of the dads told me it was 39 in his car!)

loving the rooms at meadowbrooke

ammie’s colours were hot pink with pale green and the leaves on her bouquet filled the room with the scent of the bush they both love…

fave…definitely…

ammie being laced…big job…three ladies and lots of fussing required…

love the old world charm of this…

quick shot on mums mobile for friends…

mark was keen to get the show on the road…

it was hot…real hot…but the lovely ammie just kept on smiling…

especailly when she saw her man…

now the boys in this bridal party we have met before…young danny and troy…hmmmmm…they were hungry for some posing action…

we tried, real hard, to organise these two - but failed, real bad…

at least we had a laugh…:)

ammie was on fire…love these…

and this

but especially this…this is so them…:)

this tree is hundreds of years old and a movie was shot here…didnt know that till later…

thanks brad for driving the chev over dodgy ground for us!

oh my gosh…fave…

back at meadowbrooke for 5 mins before reception…

stunning

troy delivered the best speech we have ever heard, hand down, straight from the heart…

now this is my fave from the whole day…i love this shot…

so glad we snuck out when we did…

love dance shots, always, but this set makes me all teary…

ammie and mark partied into the night at location number 2 (thanks again brad for a midnight drive - sorry we missed you!), as their wedding was always about their friends and family enjoying the party…

we hope you both enjoyed the week on the farm, with no pressure, stress or plans…

thank you beautiful ammie, for laughing all day without a care in the world…

and thanks mark for loving this gorgeous lady so openly and honestly for us to capture…

competition update : in the spirit of continuous uncontrolled cackling laughter…i definitley won today…
