peter and michelle ~ ever after

when pete met us at the door with rifles, an old dog and no pants on…we kind of figured this day was going to be a hoot…pete is the typical boy from the bush - deep voice, straight down the line, shoots and drives utes, and places his lady high up on a pedastal to adore. stunning michelle is not only gorgeous, but one of the most genuinely honest, caring and just plain nice person we have ever met. mike and i were included in this celebration like old friends, we laughed loud and lots, and we relished every rude joke, every dig and every tear…

quick interruption for big shout out and hello to mr and mrs hart! i dined with this sweet couple who i have known most of my life…and reminisced on a turbulent youth spent watching beatbox on saturday mornings in their loungeroom and partying hard into night with ruskies in their backyard…with my oldest and fondest friend and their son “black hart” … hooroo ken! :)

we can not thank you enough, pete and michelle, for the immensely enjoyable day, the fine food, many laughs and your lovely gift which was so gratefully received…thank you for your patience michelle…i’m off to facebook you to let you know they are ON THE BLOG! :)

p.s bride reflection (for difficulty of shot and end result perfectness) wins…go mike :)

dear daisy…

…today you begin pre-primary…five days a week…all day…

our early morning beach frolicking must come to an end, with much sadness, as now the mornings will rush into breakfast (no more stopping at the fruit man in the car park) and school clothes (no more lazing around in our swimmers until lunch) and watching the clock (no more “wow - is that the time?”) and plaits with clips (oh how i will miss the beach hair)…

i hope you will remember the sticky sand and the wind in our voice laughs and the overly friendly dogs…

i hope you will remember when we laid on our towels and closed our eyes and listened to the ocean…

i hope when you are a young woman, with a family, you realise and understand why i worked - every day- and this is the first summer we began our tradition…

i hope each summer from here on is filled with more laughter than you can possibly imagine and less sand on your bottom…

i hope next summer i return to a size 10 and a red polka dot bikini (oops…did i say that out loud?)

and to our dear sweet lucy (”kyles - puullleeaase no more photos of me on the blog”) who begins her first day of high school - even though it seems only yesterday she happily posed for portraits…you go girl!

wedding blog posts just around the corner…promise…
